Four hundred and one metres beneath the waters of Ulleungdo lies a hidden layer of Proper Water, untouched by pollution, sunlight or surface contamination. Filtered through submarine volcanic rock and refined by ocean pressure into nano-sized ionic particles, preserved in isolation for two millennia.

The station of whales, holding 2,000 years of time.
For tens of thousands of years, whales knew the path where the purest energy flows, cold Arctic glacier water sinking deep into the East Sea, gathering into a vast natural reservoir. At the centre of that path: the volcanic island of Ulleungdo.
During their long migrations, whales restored their strength here, the place that became, in time, both the Path of Whales and the Origin of Life.
The East Sea functions like a naturally enclosed basin. Its narrow entrance lets the water circulate internally instead of mixing with the wider ocean, a completely independent water mass known as East Sea Proper Water, matured here for 2,000 years.
